Pakistan's jailed former prime minister claimed victory in Thursday's 16th general election and called on his supporters to celebrate the victory.

The total number of seats in Pakistan's general election is 266 (one suspended).  Among them, the results of 250 seats have been declared.  It has been seen that independent candidates supported by Imran Khan's party PTI are leading by a clear margin.

But despite being behind in terms of number of seats, another former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says that his party Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) is the biggest party in this election.

For this reason, he urged others to join him and form the government.

Meanwhile, the final results of the elections are yet to be declared, but preliminary results show that no party has won the election by securing a single majority.
